Famous for its rich Italian heritage and warm hospitality, Tiamo offers a truly immersive dining experience where traditional flavors meet contemporary flair.

The menu showcases classic Italian staples with masterful execution. For those who love fresh and vibrant starters, the Roquette Salad combines peppery roquette with crunchy walnuts, juicy pears, and shaved parmigiano, drizzled generously with a tangy balsamic glaze, offering a refreshing balance of textures and tastes. Salad lovers can also indulge in the indulgent Caesar Salad, where crisp cos lettuce joins perfectly poached egg, crispy pancetta, and homemade croutons, all united by a luscious house-made Caesar dressing topped with nutty parmigiano.

When it comes to main dishes, Tiamo excels with their range of parmigiana options. The Chicken Parmigiana is a crowd favorite, featuring tender crumbed chicken served alongside crispy potato chips dusted with chicken salt — every bite is a comforting blend of golden crust and juicy meat. Vegetarians can savor the Eggplant Parmigiana, a layered delight of eggplant and mozzarella enriched with Napoli sauce that epitomizes home-style Italian cooking. Meat lovers are equally spoilt with the Veal Parmigiana, boasting a perfectly cooked veal schnitzel topped with melted cheese and vibrant Napoli sauce.

Pizza lovers are in for an unforgettable treat at Tiamo. The pizzas are crafted with a light, fluffy crust and topped generously with fresh ingredients. The Ai Funghi pizza, praised by diners as the best mushroom pizza many have ever tasted, offers a harmonious blend of earthy mushrooms, molten mozzarella, and fragrant basil that leaves a lasting impression. Other favorites include the classic Margherita with its simple yet stunning trio of pomodoro, mozzarella, and basil, and the well-balanced Capricciosa adorned with leg ham, mushrooms, olives, and optional anchovies. The diverse pizza selection reflects a true dedication to authentic Italian flavors.

The dining atmosphere at Tiamo is equally compelling. Met up with a work friend here, they booked a table for three. The place is very Italian, they have indoor and heated outdoor dining area. The staff are very courteous and the place looks wel organised. I ordered their mushroom pizza and I could almost cry - I would say it is to date the best pizza I have ever had in my life, it was wonderful and the chefs should be very proud! It was so delicious I thought of it for days. Unfortunately we only stayed in Melbourne for 4 nights, so when I visit, I will definitely eat here again. I recommend travellers to try this place, you will not regret it.

3 of us went to Tiamo in Lygon St Melbourne last night ( Wed ) for my daughters birthday dinner, we sat outside which was lovely and as it was abit cold but they had plenty of heating to keep everyone comfortable. The food and drinks menu was extensive, and suprised at the reasonable pricing, so we wanted to try abit of everything as we couldn't make up our minds. Although service was abit slow as it was super busy, but the staff were very knowledgeable on meals and wines. We finally ordered which was Lamb Cutlets which you get 3 Cutlets, we got the 3 Meat Ragu and also the Veal Saltimbocca, plus had the Garlic Foccacia as a starter. The meals were all amazing, packed with flavour and all very good serving sizes too and we paired it all off with a couple of bottles of Montepulgiano D' Abruzzo and we finished off the evening with Limoncello's. Honestly this was all traditional Italian which we love so much, it was perfect. Parking was abit of an issue, but typical of Lygon St, so we had to walk a couple of blocks to get to the Resturant, alternatively there was some closer multi story carparking areas, but unsure of pricing. All in all was a top night and would definitely go back again and recommend to everyone

Taimo is a Lygon Street institution, well-known for its authentic Italian food and warm, attentive service. Today, it certainly lived up to its reputation. To celebrate my daughter’s university graduation, this was her restaurant of choice and it didn’t disappoint. The decor is charming, paying tribute to the history of the owners over the years, which adds a lovely personal touch to the dining experience. We started with the garlic focaccia topped with mozzarella, a delicious way to take the edge off our appetite. For mains, we shared the wagyu beef penne and the spaghetti Bolognese. Both dishes were hearty, flavourful, and perfectly portioned for three to share. The food is wholesome and satisfying, though a little on the pricey side at $78 for two mains and one starter. That said, it seems to reflect the standard cost of dining out these days. Good to Know: Dietary requirements are catered for—just let the staff know. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, with heaters for colder days. High chairs are available for young children. Wheelchair access is available, though the toilets may present a challenge. Weekend surcharge: 10%. Public holiday surcharge: 15%. Parking on Lygon Street can be hit and miss, with time limits—public transport is a good option. Not BYO. The wine and beer list is simple but sufficient. Staff were friendly and quick to seat us, offering water and menus promptly. A memorable meal for a special occasion, @tiamomelbourne remains a reliable choice for classic Italian dining in Melbourne. #tripadvisor #tripadvisorreview #tripadvisorreviewer #googlelocalguide #googlelocalguides #letsguide #thewanderingreviewer #tiamolygonstreet #lygonstreet #lygonstreetcarlton #italianfoodmelbourne

1. I had an appointment with a friend, and the waiter directed us to two different seats. 2. We ordered food and the waiter didn’t put it in the system 7/10 ordered a Capricciosa pizza with anchovies The bread is somewhat fluffy, and the flavours were mild. It’s a standard good pizza 6/10 carbonara I could taste the black pepper in the pasta, but the noodles are slightly more overcooked than I would prefer. It’s moderately good. All in all, this place is alright

Absolutely loved our dinning experience! The atmosphere was cosy, yet vibrant! We were a large group of 14, but the waiters were amazing. Gave us time to order and didn't rush us. Drinks came out quick, dinner was delicious, hot until the last bite. Friendly, happy staff. We enjoyed our time here, will definately be coming back! Thanks Tiamo for making our night Memorable.
